BTC 2021 Bull Market Outlook - A technical Perspective

Image
Hi all. I am new to Reddit but not new to Bitcoin and analyzing the BTC market. Outlining my thoughts on navigating this bull market for some of the new users to understand what we can POTENTIALLY expect over the next year. I AM NOT A FINANCIAL ADVISOR, JUST A GUY SITTING ON HIS COMPUTER IN THE BASEMENT. THIS IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AS FINANCIAL ADVICE. I ALSO LOST ALL MY BITCOIN PRIVATE KEYS IN A TRAGIC BOATING ACCIDENT. CEST LA VIE. When looking at the current bitcoin bull cycle we are in I find it's helpful to understand what previous bull cycles look like to determine what we might be in for over the coming months. The last couple days have seen a pump due to some prominent individuals who are advertising bitcoin. We have retraced all those gains and i think this is A VERY GOOD THING. You see this ELON candle saw a lot of weak hands get long, likely over-leveraged and most probably lost money as they were liquidated on the way down. A

The recent fiat frenzy seems trivial for a seasoned HODLer.

So in the past two weeks we've seen the most insane events unfolding before our eyes. Millions upon millions of first time traders have put their money on the line, in pursuit of something bigger than themselves - or a quick buck - but I feel that for us bitcoiners, this is like being at the zoo, looking at a bunch of gorillas freaking the fuck out with every 10% dip or increase, safe behind thick glass. so many of us have seen red for years at a time, so many of us have had consecutive months of insomnia, but we have stood firm. Bitcoin is the Deepest of Fucking Value, and we are the most diamondest of hands. I fucking love bitcoin. submitted by /u/Chfh1000 [link] [comments] from Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet https://ift.tt/3ai4GLZ

At this point, NOT having a portfolio allocation to Bitcoin is risky

The writing is on the wall. The floodgates are opening. First, it was Square, PayPal and MicroStrategy. Now, Visa is looking to collaborate with crypto exchanges and the CEO even refers to Bitcoin as "digital gold." Elon Musk just added #bitcoin to his Twitter bio. This is just a sliver of the onslaught of bullish news. This is just the beginning. I'm all in on Bitcoin. Call it a speculation, a gamble, whatever. At this point, it's risky NOT to own some Bitcoin, not the other way around. All I know is that you should only hold in fiat what you're willing to lose. Not financial advice. submitted by /u/CleanError [link] [comments] from Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet https://ift.tt/3r643vB

Do we really want to let MicroStrategy get a bunch of Institutional Financial Companies to be able & buy all the cheap discounted Bitcoin RN? Or do we want to do what the rest of Reddit did this week, & buy it up in mass ourselves so we can get the cheap Bitcoin, & they get the expensive BTC Prices

Don't get me wrong, Michael Saylor and his company are the best thing to happen to Bitcoin in a long time. They did what those like myself who've been in this space for nearly a decade now did not expect to happen for at least another 5 years at best. Specifically, making Bitcoin their main treasury reserve asset. This is going to lead an example that will encourage other businesses to do the same. This is good for Bitcoin, but for all the little guys hype buying everything else right now but Bitcoin? It's very bad for them. They will miss the boat having sunk their fortunes into everything else they could have, while the largest rocket ship of their lifetime was just fueling up to take off. I know those of you who have been here as long as me often think "Screw the idiots then if they're too dumb to buy Bitcoin at these prices", or "People pay the price they deserve". But we came to Bitcoin because we know it is a better financial system, and p

[PSA] Robinhood Insolvency Dangers

I posted this over at r/wallstreebets as well. Robinhood appears to be on the verge of insolvency based on a few data points: To continue operating, it drew on a line of credit from six banks amounting to between $500 million and $600 million They had to raise an emergency $1 billion from investors today. They stopped allowing users to buy GME and other meme stonks for a full day yesterday. They have severely limited or blocked 50+ stocks , including lots of non meme stonks. More are likely. They are not allowing people to exercise their options, instead they are automatically selling them at a price of their choosing . There appears to be a bank run on Robinhood as people are fed up with the restrictions, this is a negative feedback loop. If Robinhood goes under the SEC will freeze all the accounts. The SIPC protects up to $500k in accounts. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, IF YOU HAVE CRYPTOCURRENCIES AT ROBINHOOD, IT APPEARS YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING! I am not bullshitting. L

My WSB stocks got fucked, so I bought more BTC

All, I bought GME, AMC, BB, and NOK with the rest of the WSB family to fuck the system and the system fucked us. It’s obvious for all to see. Frozen trading where the only option is to SELL? FUCK YOU. I hope that the class action lawsuit is so nasty that multiple hedge funds declare bankruptcy and personal assets are seized — because, to be clear, the effort by shorting GME 140% of the shares was to put 50,000 people out of work in the middle of a pandemic by shutting the business. It feels personal. It should fucking hurt, really hurt, the perpetrators. “Retail investor” is such a demeaning phrase — as opposed to “Inside trader?” Suck a fat 🍆. Look, I’m writing this in Bitcoin chat not because BTC is incredibly equal amongst its owners (it clearly isn’t), but it Absolutely is an alternative. I went into this year bullish for equities and I still am; however, when free markets force liquid losses from the common man — when asset bubbles have made the already wealthy obscenely filt

Beautiful Crypto Ticker

Hey guys, I hope you will find this useful, a few months ago I made one minimalistic web page to display current/live price of BTC, using full-screen and dark theme. So, I could put it on my big screen, Raspberry Pi screen or cell phone - https://hodl.ws Now I added two additional features: Support for ETH (you can switch in bottom-left corner) Let's say that you own 1.23 BTC and 3.45 ETH, then if you open the page like this - https://hodl.ws/?btc=1.23&eth=3.45 it will show you in the bottom-right corner your total wealth in dollars coming from crypto. Then you can bookmark this! Enjoy and don't forget to HODL! :)) submitted by /u/RiosenKoshiShinan [link] [comments] from Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet https://ift.tt/3t9u3Iy

What today reminded us about the current financial system

Whenever the people threaten the rich by making some money by exposing a rigged system, we are banned from playing. All in the name of cash. They have just shown they will never let the people eat a small piece of the pie. Cash holds power because the people believe it holds power. We were shown here today and on numerous occasions that the current wealth holders in this financial system will do nothing but take, take, take, and that cash can be used as an instrument of oppression and control. If this happened 100 years ago there would be blood on the streets. These boomers have no place running this world anymore. Decentralization is the only path to equality. Bitcoin is anger against this system manifested. submitted by /u/CIassik [link] [comments] from Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet https://ift.tt/2Yob5Q7

Why You Must Buy Bitcoin Now More Than Ever

Let me start of by saying this is not at all driven by technicals. In fact, the underlying properties of bitcoin, its potential, and the way our society/economy is doing is what created this. All of this going on with WSB and Gamestop just makes my conviction on bitcoin stronger. People are starting to revolt seeing that the stock market has always been manipulated by hedge funds/institutional investors. Now that retail investors are joining in, they want to move the field posts around to benefit their positions. I'm not saying the market is in a bubble, but valuations and returns have been through the roof the last few years. Quantitative easing and all of the stimulus has been destroying the dollar and propping up our market. Wall Street doesn't care making money at the expense of retail investors and the narrative is starting to turn. The currency for all of this has been the dollar which will continue to suffer as all of this occurs. The perfect mix of a pandemic, money

I think Bitcoin is the solution to debt.

Bitcoin gives the current (2021) generation the ability to invest in something for the long term. Bitcoins limited supply is starting to reach the deep pockets and more and more large financial corporations will continue to recommend it and own it, therefore giving into bitcoins power. It’s non-political and mathematically protected and self servant based on market what the market believes. I think we should make more of an effort to attract the retards at r/wallstreetbets

That subreddit has a lot of dumb money flying around at high flying speculative stocks when the smart money is being put into Bitcoin. I don’t get it myself, they are more than happy to throw their life savings at any stock suggested without any due diligence and ride it to the moon 🚀 as they say, when in reality that place is a large pump and dump platform. But when it comes to the best performing asset of the past decade, one that has proven the critics wrong time and again, and as far as most of us are concerned is genuinely going to the 🌙 ($1 million per coin and beyond) they ignore it and even make fun of it. Wallstreetbets has a lot of monetary influence as proven by the boom in stocks like game stop and palantir in recent times. Is this the last bubble and why I'd rather pay taxes than take loans against BTC

Not long ago Michael Saylor has started publicly investing in bitcoin; in an interview he referred to the method of taking out loans against BTC rather than selling them. He made the example of wealthy families who have owned land in Manhattan for generations; these families take out loans against the properties. The loans are untaxed and since the price of the properties keep rising, can be paid without losing the properties. Sounds nice. Since his interview (and maybe even before) bitcoiners here and elsewhere have agreed with Saylor to do the same thing with their BTC. In my view, that's a bad idea. Here's why. Counterparty risk. If you deposit your BTC with Celsius or some other lender as collateral, you no longer hold the keys. The lender might get hacked or otherwise go belly-up, and you'll be out of your collateral. Whether this is an acceptable risk is a personal matter. The strategy is based on the assumption that BTC will keep rising in value. (If BTC does

That’s a huge sum of money for me to ‘lose’. Especially as bitcoin makes up a very high percentage of my net worth. However; I’m still up on my investment, my conviction remains as strong as ever, I will not be shaken out, I’m still HODLing! I haven’t decided on when to take profit to pay back the loan. I’m currently thinking around $160,000 BTC. I’ll post again in a couple of months time. Keep stacking brothers! submitted by /u/BitcoinandTesla [link] [comments] from Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet https://ift.tt/3c5fdwf

Anyone else remember the 50% drop last March?

I remember going to bed and we were sitting around $8k. Woke up the next morning and we were at $4k. Honestly wasn’t even phased (been in crypto since 2016; I was somewhat desensitized by that point) Remember everyone freaking out? I don’t, because we were back up just over a month later. With crypto in the spotlight again, the FUD is real and novice bitcoiners have a lot weaker hands than the hodlers Hodl strong people (Disclaimer; I am not an expert. Hello noobs, freaking out yet?

It looks like we’ve experienced our first 30% correction for this cycle. Did you know in 2017, whenever bitcoin had a 30+% correction, it was followed by a rally doubled or more in just a few weeks? And there were FIVE 30+% corrections in 2017. Did you sell? Hodling strong? Did you buy the dip? If you bought the dip, cookies for you! I fucked up.

So, as the title suggests. I Fucked up big time. I've been in crypto since 2017, been putting all my extra cash into the markets since then. Been active in communites and definitely confident about the future of crypto. Ill skip to my fuckup. I had recently decided to trade using leverage, started small and did my research. Today, I saw an opportunity with bitcoins sideways pullback and supports, and I was confident. Too confident. i bought in at 20x leverage, things were going well, i bought a bit above the bottom, and then bought in again nearly perfectly getting the reversal. Here is my series of mistakes that turned into a big fuckup: Normally ill judge the bounce and buy in again on the ride up if im confident, small fluctuations in price wont get me liquidated, wait, not get too greedy and close. I decided to use 125x leverage on my last buy. Dumb i know. but still, it was my smallest buy and i was confident in the returns, if theres a fluctuation i'd just add to t

Sold some off

Been Hodler of BTC since 2016 and am a firm believer but decided to finally sell a portion of what I had to pay off my car and student loans. I have 0 regrets in doing so and will continue to DCA monthly. This is a huge weight off my shoulders thanks to Bitcoin. Call me weak handed if you want but being able to say I’m now debt free is amazing feeling. Sold it all today - my story since 2013

Well not all, but about 20 coins. I'm just writing this to get it off my chest. Here's my story: After missing my buy at $20 in early 2013 due to my laziness of having to sign up for an exchange, I didn't let my chance slip up later that year: I bought at the peak of the boom in late 2013. I ended up averaging in at about $800 for 40+ BTC ($35k total). I had been successful in an online business, and as a young kid I decided to throw half of my net worth into this magic internet money. I didn't understand the concept of decentralization back then, but I liked the idea of an internet currency, it made sense and I loved taking risks so I went for it. Well shortly after that I discovered Dogecoin (or was it created then?) so naturally I dumped ALL my BTC into it thinking this meme coin would be an even better form of internet money. Over a year or two I watched my crypto dwindle down to sub $2k. At that point I was thinking alright might as well let it go to 0. I event
