Privacy before downloading Wasabi... any concerns prior? Just got coldcard

Hi all is there any steps i should use to protect myself in terms of privacy? I remember seeing that mac sends updates each time you open an app, is this true?

Also should i download tor? Do i need a vpn? Man so many pricey add ons lol. Thanks in advance
